Shree Investment & Finance Co Ltd. (Bittiya Sanstha) was incorporated in the year 1994 (2051 BS) by a group of eminent businessmen from Kathmandu , as a Financial Services Company and a Merchant Bank under the Nepal Finance Company Act, 1985 and the Nepal Company Act, 1964. The Company has been licensed by the Nepal Rastra Bank as “C’ class Financial Institution to undertake finance services and merchant banking activities in the country.
The Company started its operations on June 01, 1995. (B.S 2051/3/22) with an authorized capital of Rs. 400 Lakh, issued capital of Rs. 200 Lakh and paid-up capital of Rs. 60 Lakh. In keeping with the growth targets, the company has kept increasing its capital base. Today, the Company has an authorized capital of RS. 2000 Lakh, issued capital of RS. 1000 Lakh and paid up capital of RS. 560 Lakh.
SIFCO deposits recorded an appreciable increase of 11.9 % to Rs 6410.02 Lakh at the end of financial year 2005-06 from the previous year figure of Rs. 5726.53. The credit portfolio of the company recorded an appreciable growth during the year. The total advances of the company increased to Rs 5909.35Lakh against 5436.85Lakh of the corresponding period of the previous year registering a growth of 8.7%.
SIFCO came out with its public issue in 2002. Total number of shareholders as on end of November 2006 is above 2000 and the share has been listed in Nepal Stock Exchange.
The Company presently has two offices in Kathmandu and Biratnagar. The Company also plans to geographically spread out to other parts of the country in the near future.
Today SIFCO has prominently grown over the years, from Fixed, Recurring Saving Deposits to Loans & Advances; SIFCO has accomplished for itself a niche position in the Nepalese Financial Sector while firmly adhering to a policy of prudence and caution, company has been in the forefront of introducing various innovative products and services.
